The Hutt Grand Council also simply known as the Hutt Council was the governing body of the Hutts which convened on the planet Nal Hutta, the capital of Hutt space. The Council arbitrated disagreements and overall ruled the Hutt race and while the manner in which they mad decisions was largely unknown the Council was thought to be fair in their rulings. There was one member from each clan to represent their family's position and criminal enterprises in the Hutt Council. However not all Hutt clans were allowed a seat on the Council, as each clan had to trace their lineage to the Hutt's old homeworld, Varl to win a seat. During the Clone Wars, there were only five members: Jabba Desilijic Tiure, Gorga Desilijic Aarrpo, Arok, Oruba, and Marlo. Though Gardulla the Hutt often has a seat on the Council, she was merely Jabba's representative on the Council when he could not attend, either in person or via Hologram.
