A Tripmine
Electro-mines were used during the Clone Wars to defend checkpoints or crucial locations. These very large, semi-circular mines released a deadly wave of electricity when activated, and prevented attackers from using ropes and grappling hooks to scale the cliff leading to the facility without dangerous free-climbing. Clone trooper Charger was unfortunately electrocuted by a mine while scaling a cliff to reach the Citadel prison to free Even Piell. The activation of this mine alerted the Citadel's guards to the presence of the Jedi and clone strike team before they even reached the installation.
