A Battle Droid with an E-5 Blaster

E-5 blaster rifles were the most frequently blasters used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and were wielded by almost all infantry droids, including BX-Series Droid Commandos, Tactical Droids and B1 Battle Droids.

The E-5 had a relatively large Tibana gas firing chamber which made the weapon's blasts rather powerful, and the shortened barrel allowed it to be used in short range combat. Nonetheless, the rifle had numerous drawbacks, most notably its inaccuracy and the tremendous heat generated by the barrel. In most circumstances, however, the heat was not a problem as the E-5 was designed specifically for use by the Trade Federation's droid army.
