Republic Heroes

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes is a video game based on the Clone Wars television series. It was released on October 6, 2009 for Play Station 3, XBOX 360, Wii, and PC. A different version was created for the Nintendo DS. Although the game appears to have many of the elements from Season 1 of the TV Series, the storyline takes place in between Seasons 1 and 2.

Gameplay[]

In Republic Heroes, the player completes missions through an original storyline as either a Jedi or clone trooper, depending on the type of level. The goal of the game is to defeat enemies and overcome obstacles in order to reach the end of the level. Occasionally Boss characters are put at the end of each mission.

Reception[]

The game received multiple negative reviews from the public, saying that it is nowhere near as good as the Lego Star Wars series. Websites including IGN and Gameinformer complained about the severely unresponsive controlls, confusing and awkward level design, bad character design, poor camera angle, poor co-op play, and repetitivity throughout. The lack of explanation on what to do/how to defeat a boss, and the fact that it is nearly impossible to traverse a whole level without falling further contributes the the game's criticism. There were stated to be some positive sides to the game, however, and many comment that the game has good audio quality and resembles the TV series very well.
