The Sky Battle of Quell was a surprise attack on Jedi Knight Aayla Secura and her fleet in the year 22 BBY during the Clone Wars. Aayla and her surviving troops pushed on to meet with Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, and get on his escort ship and on the Resolute.
Though both sides launched starfighter squadrons and took fair casualties, Secura's fleet was overpowered and was hastily destroyed, the commander for the Separatist forces, TF-1726, launched B2-RP Battle Droids to board Secura's cruiser. Though at that time, reinforcements from the 501st Legion, led by Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex, arrived in the system and deployed LAAT Gunships. They met with fierce resistance from the Rocket Droids with Skywalker's gunship being severely damaged; Skywalker himself jumped atop a Rocket Droid and used it to board Secura's cruiser with Tano and Rex just behind via their damaged gunship crashing into the cruiser.

The group soon caught up with Secura and Commander Bly who were also combating the invaders. Secura congratulated Skywalker on making it through, but inquired on his escape plan, to which he responded he had a Consular-class cruiser docking with the Liberty. Before they could reach it, however, the Tactical Droid commander grew impatient and ordered the Liberty, being the only Republic cruiser remaining, to be destroyed, regardless of the droid forces on board.

Once the rescue team reached the docking gateway, the ship began to implode. Skywalker saw they wouldn't be able to escape in time and Force pushed his team onto the Consular cruiser and then used the Force to hold back the explosions. Unfortunately, he could not withstand the force of the blast and was thrown back, gravely injuring him. Tano frantically ordered the pilots to keep the ship where it was while she pulled her master aboard.
Bly took control of the ship and steered it away from the burning Star Destroyer; Secura joined him on the bridge and requested to Admiral Wullf Yularen that they dock with the Resolute immediately to get Skywalker proper medical attention. Yularen reluctantly agreed, but as they attempted to dock, a blast from attacking Vulture Droids activated the Hyperdrive. The Consular cruiser was forced to detach in order to make the jump safely. Yularen ordered his crew to plot every possible hyperspace course along their last known trajectory in order to locate them.
